About

Mina Aoki’s work explores the experience of dissociation and the unsettling sensation of being disconnected from one’s body. Using a variety of paint mediums—such as acrylics, ink, and watercolors—Mina creates layered, textured compositions that reflect the instability and fluidity of identity during moments of internal conflict and physical struggle.

Through figurative imagery, Mina evokes the tension between feeling and perception, illustrating the complex negotiation between mind and body. These paintings invite the viewer into a space of unease, offering a visual dialogue on the struggles of presence, identity, and the exploration of surrender.
